Need Itinerary for Spain

Help. Need an itinerary for Spain. Flying into Madrid on 9/3 departing from Madrid 9/11. Do you have a recommendation on where to go? Want to spend 3 days in Madrid- the rest is up in the air. Like history, old cities, museums, restaurants.

I little more informaiton regarding your budget might be helpful. You may also want to download a copy of Maribel's Guide to Madrid to learn about what's available to do in the area.

If you plan to spend 3 days in Madrid, that leaves 5 days. If you have never been, I highly recommend Andalucia, perhaps 3 days in Seville and 2 days in Granada.

If I were doing this, and I wish I were, I'd rent a car and do a trip to Toledo, spend the night, then drive to Segovia, stopping at El Escorial and the valley of the fallen, spend the night and next day in Segovia, drive to Salamanca, spend the day and night and drive back to Madrid your last day. Seville is best left for another trip, because if you're south, you have Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, Nerja, Gibraltor. You get the picture. Whatever you do, have fun.

We very much enjoyed Granada and the Alhambra. It helped that we stayed at a fabulous AC hotel in town. We could walk around the lively town at night. The Alhambra was just spectacular and a highlight of our trip.

We also enjoyed Barcelona very much. A very vibrant city, great Gaudi architecture, great food and sites.

Just in case this isn't entirely clear from robert's post...

www.maribelsguides.com

Worth their weight in gold, the guide documents avilable there.

And I see that you posted twice - - almost simultaneously - - perhaps this was due to the typo in the header (in which case, you did the only thing you could do - - start afresh)...

... or if you weren't sure it it "took" then click n your own name.

Best wishes,

to the top... seems like it would make sense for your answers to "concentrate" here (your "other" post has one answer now, as well).
