NEED INPUT - 7 nights in the Amalfi Coast - can you help plan our trip???
My wife and I are planning a trip to the Amalfi Coast.
We are the type to jump around cities and towns, do some sight seeing, but when in Europe, we like to enjoy the cafes (in Italy the Piazza's).
Eventhough we don't mind doing day trips, we always wish we would have spent the night to enjoy the nights. We are not looking to party, but certainly would love to spend the nights enjoying a couple of glasses of some fine vino.
We are spending 7 nights in the Amalfi Coast. As of now, this is how we are thinking of breaking up the trip.
Sorrento - 2 nights
Capri - 1 night
Amalfi - 1 or 2 nights
Positano - 2 or 3 nights
Your input is greatly appreciated!!!!

When is this trip? That might make a difference. Are you relying only on public trans?
You say you like to jump around, so I suppose your plan makes sense. FWIW, we enjoyed Amalfi more than Positano, but you'll certainly hear from others who preferred Positano. I guess you won't know which team you're on until you get there.
Do you plan to see Pompeii, Herculaneum and/or Naples? If so, your two nights (one full day) in Sorrento might not be enough.

Given the proximity of all these places it would not be my personal choice to break up a week stay this way. I would dread packing up and moving from place to place. Especially when I think I may have to check out by 11 and it takes an hour or less (public or private transit) to get to the next hotel and then maybe can't check in until 3.
But if your idea is really to spend the nights in different cities, and not have to worry about getting back to your hotel when it's late or you've had too much vino, then I guess you have a good plan. My choice would be to opt for more relaxation time.
