Need info re: flying out of Bologna (BLQ)

Hello,
My husband is planning on flying out of Bologna (BLQ) when returning from an upcoming trip to Italy. NWA has a flight that leaves BLQ at 6:15AM, so he should be at the airport by 4:15AM.
The airport shuttle does not appear to run that early in the AM.
How is taxi availability in the wee hours of the morning in Bologna?

Thanks for any info.

Hello jkstrouse, here is the website that would probably be of help to you. http://www.bologna-airport.it/templa...lder=197&LN=UK Notice that the two taxi company numbers are at the bottom of the website. You no doubt know but you need to dial 011(if you are in the US) plus 39 before the phone numbers. I hope this website helps.

I don't think NWA flies out of Bologna, I think it's a code share with another airline. You might want to find out the name of the airline and its flight number for that flight to avoid confusion.

The husband and kids flew NW out of Bologna a couple of years ago. KLM is no doubt the codeshare, you shouldn't have any problems.

I was in Bologna this past November - had an early flight home connecting through Milan. My hotel arranged for a taxi the night before - he even arrived 15 minutes early.

As mentioned above, arrange for the taxi the night before. I've done this more than once and had no problems. Very little traffic, so the already short ride to the airport goes by very quickly.

We had this exact problem flying home from Bologna last summer. We arranged for a taxi the night before, just to be safe, and it was a very quick ride. (I'll say 15 minutes from the heart of the city.) They told me that it is a 45+ minute ride after 7am because traffic is so very congested. (that was our experience driving in, also.) So it's good that you have to leave early! I don't remember what the taxi cost us, but it was very reasonable. Much less than a shuttle would be from Paris to the airport. Love Bologna!!

Thanks so much for this information. We too have a very early flight out from Bologna--glad to know we can stay in the city the last night and be at the airport so quickly. Our flight is on Lufthansa, but I am assuming there is only one terminal there--is that correct does anyone know? Many thanks.

Once you see how small Bologna's airport is, RobynFrance, you'll laugh that you even asked this question. It's new, modern, and very convenient.
