Need info. on Anne Frank House Tours
I was planning on visiting the Anne Frank House first thing in the morning to avoid the long lines, but now I will be visiting in the afternoon. How much time do I need to allow for the tour? How late should I line up in order to make it in the house by closing time? Can you take photographs inside?

Also, does anyone know the admission price and hours of the Heineken Brewery? My guide book is a little old and mentioned it was closed (at the time of printing) so information was given on it.

Thanks for any help

The Anne Frank House is very small, however, there is a small museum next door where there is a film and library. In the afternoon, I would allow an hour in case there are lines, and one to one and a half hours for a visit (assuming you would watch the film). It is very worthwhile to view the film. As I recall you can take photographs, however, the rooms are very dark. You'd be better off buying a selection of postcards there.
the Anne Frank house closes at 5pm, so be in line by 3:30 at the latest. You can see most everything in about 30 minutes. The Heineken Brewery admission is only about 50 cents, open Mon-Fri 9am - 2:30pm, 6 guided tours in summer (May-Sep) & 3 morning tours only in other months. You get a free beer at the end, so actually you come out ahead financially.

The Heineken Museum was closed for a long time but is now reopened as the Heineken Experience. It's now self guided and open from 10:00 to 18:00 Tuesday to Sunday. Last tickets are sold at 17:00 for 11 NLG or about US $4.50
check out http://www.heinekenexperience.com/faq.html

The Anne Frank House is definitely owrth a visit. I was there in August and NO, you are not allowed to take photos inside the museum. The whole tour should take about 1 1/2 hrs to be meanignful. You shouldn't be deterred by the lines because it moves pretty fast. When I was there, there was a queue in the rain about a block from the museum but we got in after about a 15 mins wait. It looks long outside because but it moves pretty fast.
