Need hotel info of Rome and Florence
My friend and I are going to stay in Rome 4 days and Florence 3 days at the end of this August. We'd like to find a nice and convenient place for two with up to $200/night. Can someone recommend some nice hotels? Thanks.

Hotel Grand Cavour in Florence - Fontanella Borghese in Rome

While I agree with Marcia that the Hotel Grand Cavour is an excellent choice in Florence, be aware that the streetside rooms tend to be noisy due to the heavy traffic.

All the recommendations in the world won't mean much without availability info. See www.venere.com - - window shop, check availability, make specific inquiries, and make online reservations (or cancellations) with complete confidence.

Best wishes,

Rex
I 2nd the Due Torri, just stayed there this summer. Very good location, quiet, clean and friendly staff. You can walk just about everywhere from here.
Check out www.inpiazzadellasignoria.it in Florence. This place is so nice and in a perfect location! We had a wonderful experience there.

Hotel Monna Lisa in florence. We ahd a room with a balcony overlooking the garden I think it was room #5.(not sure) Staff were friendly and helpful Great breakfast!

In Rome we stayed at Albergo del Senato (near Pantheon, about EUR 220 per double) and in Firenze - Hotel Pitti Palace (8 meters from Ponte Vecchio, EUR 205 per double). Both are recommended, especially Senato.
