Need Hotel help!

My husband and I are planning a 21 day trip to Europe for October and want some help finding hotels that are in a good area (close to attractions and safe). We will be staying in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Florence and Rome. We would like to keep the hotels under $200.00 US dollars per night if possible and private bathrooms are a must!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Your post title is too general to arouse much interest on this forum, IMO. You don't even say where you are looking until the body of the post. You would get much more help if you were specific, and posted separate threads on each city. That way, Fodorites with experience in that city might chime in with a little jewel they would like to suggest.

Doing a bit of homework on TripAdvisor and this site would help to narrow down your choices, as well,

Expedia has a good map that you can enlarge if needed. You can also sort hotels by price. We even made reservation for Copenhagen - refundable till the day before arrival.

So 162 euro per night.

In Amsterdam I really liked the neighborhoods around Leidseplein and Vondelpark, much more than the "central" area around the train station and the Dam. I stayed at Hotel Kap, which may be too 'budget' for you but I found it adequate with decent breakfast included.

I agree this question in incredibly broad. I think you'd get better input if you have a few ideas in mind, and let us help with your "short list".

When we went to London, we booked our hotel on expedia, and it was great to look at the map and see what neighborhood you were in as well as proximity near the sites. You can do this with all the countries. The rates in October will be substantially less than summer! Have fun!
