And, when will you spend time in Tetouan, your primary target ?
You should consult booking.com for a hotel in Algeciras. We used to stay at the grand hotel Reina Cristina but haven't been there in years.
Make sure you know the next meet-up spot in Granada should you be delayed on the way there !

We'll be in Tetouan all day Saturday (leave Tangier early Saturday morning). We have a relative of my cousin's friend who is going to show us around - visit my father's home, school, cemetery where my great grandparents are buried, etc. Everyone seemed to think a day is enough so we'll go to Chefchauen late Saturday. Thanks for all of your help!!

HELP!! So I'm trying to make the arrangements from Algeciras to Granada (for May 9). When I go to https://www.alsa.es/ it tells me "No existen datos para el trayecto seleccionado." When I go to http://www.avanzabus.com/web/horario...-destinos.html it tells me "No hay resultados".

You are way too early for seat bookings for the month of May. Local people usually don't prebook at all; they just buy their ticket at the counter and board the bus.
For the train, advanced boooking is definitely not necessary.
