Need Help with Paris to Caen/Bayeux Train
I'm having a problem getting a reservation on this train on June 18th. Is it likely a reservation glitch or could all trains that day be sold out?
Any experiences with this?
I can get the reservation from the US site but I live in Switzerland and can't get one from there. I may have the tickets sent to the US and re-shipped but they are more expensive that way...
thanks...

Reservations are optional on these trains. I've used this route several times over the years and always found unreserved seats on the trains. I can't believe that all the trains would be sold out, unless there is some very special event on that date, which seems unlikely on a Wednesday.

The day before is good, because you won't have any time pressure to get the deal done. If you get ticketed immediately before boarding, you have to add a cushion to make sure you don't miss the train.
But if you have your tickets in hand, you go to the platform shortly before departure time, cancel your ticket using one of the yellow compositeur machines, and climb aboard.

Though reservations have always been optional on that route i think now there are some Corail TEOZ trains and these do require reservations - more and more long-disance non-TGV trains are being re-branded from Corail to Corail TEOZ and have mandatory reservations.
That said it's extremely unlikely IME that any of those trains would be sold out - and there are trains every hour practically - many, if not all i don't know, not requiring reservations
If it says Corail TEOZ you must have a reservation before boarding
