Need help with hotel terms and room measurement conversion
 

Re: Paris hotel rooms, what is meant by a "sofa bed". Is it like an American sofabed that folds up during the day and then at night you pull out the bed? A meter is a little more than 3 feet, so a 9 by 12 room is 3 by 4 meters, or 12 square meters. A room that's 20 square meters might be 4 by 5 meters, which is a bit more than 12 by 15 feet.

Here's another approach: A square meter is about ten square feet, so just divide or multiply by 10: So a room that's 20 square meters is about 200 square feet. <BR><BR>Then to convert that 200 square feet to room dimensions, just pick a figure for one side and divide to find the other. For example, if your 200-square-foot room has one side that's 15 feet, then the other side is 200/15, which is 13.3. A little different from Suzy's figures, but close enough!

Meter = 39.34 inches last time I looked. Soaf bed is just that - same as in US. But you dopn't pull it out - you just make it up.<BR><BR>Probably 5 meters x 4 meters - just convert to 39.34, and you have it - then divide by 12, and you'll feel at home with it.
