Need help with Heathrow to Windsor travel

Hello, I am spending the night at Heathrow and then we will be leaving for windsor then next morning. I am looking for a bus schedule or what is the price of a cab fare? thanks in advance, PJ

donnow bout buses

but could take the Heathrow Connect (not Heathrow Express) train to Slough then the train to Windsor and would not take long i think - and frequent trains

According to this PDF bus schedule:

There are 2 buses that run to Windsor.

HEC doesn't go to Slough - you'd go as far as Hayes & Harlington, change trains for Slough then change trains again for Windsor once you reach Slough

Alternatively there is a bus service via Slough

Or you could just get a taxi - it's only a few miles from airport to Windsor, so there's not any need to stay at the airport when it could be as quick to get to Windsor

If you check the "to and from our airport" section of the Heathrow Airport website you'll get all the details and links you need

Is there a reason you want/need to stay at LHR? Windsor is very close and unpacking for the night and then moving the next morning doesn't make much sense when you can just get to Windsor in 15 minutes. If you do end up staying at a LHR hotel - just take a cab to Windsor. Much better than messing about w/ going back to the airport and then catching public transport.

But if you can change your plans - just stay in Windsor and forget about staying at LHR.

Ditto to what janisj said. I live in Windsor/Maidenhead and it makes no sense to spend the night at a Heathrow hotel and then head out to Windsor in the morning. Moreover, you will have much better (and probably cheaper) dining options if you stay in Windsor, instead of being dependent on a Heathrow hotel restaurant.
Car services from LHR to Windsor will cost roughly £20-25. I can give you several car service phone numbers...some are more reliable than others.
If you opt for the train to H&H with change at Slough for Windsor, be advised that there's a flight of stairs involved...keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage.
If you are worried about the price of hotels in Windsor, try the new Travelodge, located less only a block from the castle complex.

thank you, we are only staying at heathrow because my husband is flying back to the states on that tuesday. So we spending our last night with him after touring croatia. My son and I then have a hotel in london on tuseday night. So my thinking was since we are already spending the night at heathrow on monday , maybe tuesday morning we could take a bus or cab to windsor then train back to london for our night in london then we take the eurostar to paris the next day on wednesday.

we will not have any luggage with us, because on monday when we fly into london from dubrovnik I am leaving my luggage at our hotel for our tuesday stay.

sounds complicated, but we wamted to be together before my husband's flight. Is there a problem with the bus schedule? sounds easy enough, let me know!

If you want to get a "bus or cab" to Windsor DO NOT take a taxi off the rank at Heathrow.

Taxis going to Windsor are not subject to official price controls: prebook a car for a fixed rate (for example, by taking BTilke up on her offer) or get the bus.

Hi, this trip is not until August, many thanks for all the great info.

Unless someone knows better on this forum, I think the bus will be fine. We will not have luggage, and from the timetable doesn't look difficult.

Hi pjsparlor-

Have you taken this trip yet? It turns out I'll need to do this trip next week. Just wondering if you have any more info.
