Need help w\train travel in England

Using the National rail web site I am trying to get the schedule and cost of train travel from London to St. Ives. However, no matter what London station or St. Ives \ St. Erth I get a message that there are no trains that meet my request. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You'd go from Paddington to Penzance or St Erth (or Earth-not sure which)& change to a local train to St Ives. It's about a 5hr 30-40min trip. Leaving after 10am will be a lot cheaper than leaving earlier.

If you go to this website http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/planmy...quirements.asp and plug in your info (date &amp; time of travel) you'll get train options.<BR><BR>Note Paddington is CLOSED this weekend. Could that be your problem?

Final thought on this travelx2, it appears the timetables are only posted up to 12 weeks in advance.

The Paddington-Cornwall route is run by Great Western, so their site should have timetable info:<BR><BR>http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/travelinfo/fgwtimetables.php<BR><BR>Steve

RYANAIR (www.ryanair.com) fly from London Stansted to Newquay in Cornwall. I've noticed that until Monday they're offering unsold tickets for free(plus 22 tax). British Airways also fly there too (from Gatwick).

I get that response on qjump thats why I now use www.thetrainline.com. It shows more trains with prices. Good Luck
