Need Help. Travel time for Ring of Kerry in Irealand
 

Traveling by car in mid-June. Does anyone know about how long it takes to drive counter-clockwise from say Castlemaine through Waterville and ending at Killarney in June, or any summer months for that matter. Not counting stops along the way. I'm figuring we'll start at Castlemaine around 10am. I am concerned about getting to Killarnehy by 6pm. Thank you very much for your help.

I reckon on the RoK being a day. An eight-hour day seems very reasonable to me.

Drive time is under 3 hours so it depends how much off the N70 you plan on exploring.

As an American (use to driving on the wrong side of the road) I couldn't do more than about half the posted speed limits. Keep in mind that if it's a rainy/foggy day you'll be slowed down. I've only done it clockwise to avoid getting stuck behind all the tour buses that leave from Killarney and go counter-clockwise.
