Hello, used a great tour guide for 2 days in Istanbul who also does complete tours of Turkey. He booked our hotel also, The Arcadia, small but very nice rooms and fabulous view of sea and Blue Mosque. We did a Bosphorus cruise and had a van and driver one day. He provided all, including airport pickup and drop off. He was nice, provided excellent history, and totally catered to our wishes. His name is Mehmet Ozbalci at [email protected] Give him an email and see what he suggests. Tell him Glenda recommmended him. I forgot to say that his prices were very reasonable. It was wonderful to be an independent traveler but have a private guide. Have fun.

Forgot to give you rate. It was $100 day for guiding, $65 night for hotel through him, it was posted at over $100,
I think $30 total for both airport pick up and drop off at cruiseport. I really recommend him, and he was recommended to me by someone on this board.
Hi Cathie, I wish I was going back to Turkey in April! We were there last June, and we've travelled alot, but I think I love Turkey the most. Maybe I'm just getting smarter in planning trips. This web site helps so much. Anyway we did most of the trip ourselves, but used Pasha Tours and gate 1 travel to book guides for seeing the major sites in Istanbul, Ephesus and Cappadocia. We also booked hotels separately thru them, and they were all under $100.00/nite. The guides had Mercedes vans and also drivers. With the world situation being as it is, you can ask for a group tour and chances are you will have the guide and driver to yourself, but only pay group rate as opposed to private rate. Pasha and Gate 1 both have web sites, so check them out. Good luck.
