I am really leaning towards the third choice....

Have stayed in the Princesa apartments in Barcelona twice. Great location-I prefer Born area in Barcelona. Second apt is more conventional but popular location (Eixample area) The last two are located in areas I am not familiar with but may be a little far from things.

The location of the third choice is fine...just a bit out of the usual tourist places but I would have no hesitation about staying there...what is the price? It looks a bit to the west of Gracia (the website says that is in Gracia, an area that I liked very much) but I think the location is just fine.

If you are looking for other options, I stayed for a week in a fantastic apt; I highly recommend this agency and they have a few places smaller than the 2-bedroom that I rented; for example:

For 5 Nights, it's 585 Euros, so that's around our budget, I can't really afford much more. By the way, thanks for the link, it's really nice!!!

You could try bbb jardinets in Gracia, it's more of a small hotel, only has 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Gracia is about ten minutes' walk up from plaza catalunya, and for my money it's WAY nicer than staying downtown, as some areas there can get a little dodgy at night.. from Gracia you can dip in and out of the main bits and escape back to where it's more chilled.
Seriously nice place, cheap, clean and with a great breakfast.

I agree about El Born Princesa
The best location in a nice building. stayed there a few years ago.

PS.
If you wish to stay in the third one, it is not a problem at all getting to most sites.
Metro is cheap and convenient

we are renting the Pedera apartment from Habitat the middle of October. After much research for our first trip we decided the Eixample area was the most convenient

Ita,
Your apt is on my favorite street in Barcelona.
Right in the middle of beautiful Eixample, close to everything .
Enjoy.
I will be in Barcelona for the sixth time the third week of Oct.

Ita, I stayed in the Pedrera apartment a few years ago and really enjoyed the apartment and the location. Have a great trip. This is my trip report:

I too rented the Pedrera flat for next Feb...Nikki I think we have stayed in the same apartment in Paris on Rue Charlot...so I figured if we both liked that one, I would like this one too, thanks!

Susanna, I haven't stayed on rue Charlot, although I have stayed on rue Chapon, does that count?

I rented the La Pedrera apartment based on Nikki's report and loved it. Here is a link to my trip report to Barcelona with a link to my pictures in it (if I remember correctly). We loved the apartment, the area, and Barcelona. http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...t-our-last.cfm
