Need help planning trip with a toddler
Hi,
My husband and I will be in Italy for 11 days in November with our 17 months old baby. We are flying into Rome and was planning on spend time in Rome, Siena and Venice. We were in Florence in our last trip a few years ago. We thought about renting a car from Rome and drive to the other 2 cities. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it fun for the little one? Sites that she might like? Towns near by these 3 cities that might also be worth a day trip? Any suggestions for family friendly hotels in these 3 cities? Would appreciate any suggestions. |
She'll probably have about an equally good time everywhere she goes. Italians LOVE babies, and she'll get lots of attention. I'm not sure what you mean by a family-friendly hotel. Except I guess for those singles resorts, I never heard of one that would turn away a baby.

Almost all hotels accept babies, but perhaps the original poster means the type of hotel that would offer babysitting (for a fee of course) and things like cribs, high chairs in the dining room, etc.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I am looking for hotels that may offer crib so we don't have to bring our pack-n-play. Having a small fridge with enough space for milk for the toddler would also be great.

I've read accounts of people (not necessarily traveling in Italy) who got to the hotel room which was supposed to have a crib and finding out that it was either unavailable or unsafe. For peace of mind I might pack the pack n'play even if you are promised a crib.
