Need help planning honeymoon to Paris
 

Hi guys, so it's our first time going to paris and we needed some recommendations on hotels in either the 5th or 6th section. We'll be going on the 17th of September till the 24th of September. Since this is going to be the first leg of our honeymoon we're more interested in seeing the sites then relaxing, we're going to Aruba for the second leg and we'll relax there, so we'd like to stay in a 3 star or 4 star hotel. Thanks so much.

I can't give you a specific recommendation for these areas, but will offer a little advice. Don't be turned off by Best Westerns or even some of the Holiday Inns - many of them are in older buildings with quite a lot of character (but perhaps a little rough around the edges - making them less expensive than the other chains). I recently stayed in a rather charming Holiday Inn near the Gare de Lyon. Hotels are fairly expensive in Paris. In particular, have a look at the "Best Western Premier" hotels - they could be a decent deal. But make sure you check the reviews on tripadvisor.com - quality and service vary significantly from hotel to hotel.

I would recommend Hotel de L'Abbaye. It's in a great location and has lots of charm (it's an old monastary that has been completely redone). It's in the 6th. I believe it's around $180 a night.
As it is your honeymoon, I'd highly recommend getting a baguette, some cheese and wine and taking an evening cruise along the Seine. I know, it sounds contrived and tres touristy but it was one of the most memorable things I've done in Paris. Notre Dame at night from the water is not to be missed!

..suggest using trip advisor to pick out some hotels which appeal. I think the 6th is an ideal place for a honeymoon (or the 5th near the 6th or the 7th near the 6th). What is your budget?

weather permitting, another really romantic thing to do is get some wine and cheese and head to the tour around dusk and wait for it to light up. So beautiful!

Hotel Buci is a very nice place, very central, and wouild be ideal for honeymooners, IMO.

You had better state your budget as there are so many nice 3-4* hotels in those areas that could be fine. However, some of the 4*s in St-Germain are much more expensive than a 3* in the 5th would be, for example. It is possible you may not be aware of even what some 3* prices are in St-Germain, which I think can be around 200-250 euro for some hotels (ie, the Madison).

So, what's the budget?

what about staying in an apartment? I've just booked one through parisperfect.com for next October. Many of their places overlook the Eiffle Tower.
