Need help on FFM info for Alitalia

I need to get a multicity FFM ticket on Alitalia. They tell me I need to transfer my AXP miles first, and then get the ticket. On Delta, I always reserve the ticket first, then transfer the miles. I am afraid that since I need the ticket for June, that I might transfer the miles to Alitalia, and then not be able to get the ticket(s) I need. Any advice out there? Can I book Alitalia FFM tickets through Delta since they code share? Does anyone know? Can you do multi-city FFM tickets or will I need to break it up into separate flights? Thanks.

rhkkmk, You are the best!!!! I called Delta and got $4500 worth of domestic flights on FFM. I got all the flights I wanted except Alitalia flies Croatia air, and they are not a code share with Delta, so I am flying Czech airlines from Athens to Split and Split to Rome. A minor inconvenience. Thanks again. Your friend forever from Texas!

And I just used up all my miles!

You know, I probably wouldn't have bothered to call Delta because I really didn't think I would be able to do this through them and I hate to call them and wait on hold. They were very nice to me too! I usually have to call back several times before I can get someone that really wants to help me. This time the first agent I got was ready to make it work!
