Need help in Planning a trip to Croatia and The Amalfi Coast

My husband and I are planning a trip to Croatia and then on to the Amalfi Coast over Labor Day. for about 10 days. We will be staying in someone's private home while in Croatia and then we were told ther is a barge boat to the Amalfi Coast??? Once we arrive there we plan on renting a car to drive up the Amalfi Coast. We have never been to Poasitano or the Amalfi Coast so we need some recommendations on where to stay, eat and what to do. We like to travel on the higher end. So far Hotel San Pietro and Sirenuse have been recommended to us. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

How long is the boat ride to Amalfi? It seems like a long way. Also, what city does it leave you off in?

krgystn- I don't know the answer to either of those questions. The person who owns the home in Croatia mentioned it to us and I am about to find out the specifics.

Check it out on a map. Assuming you leave from Dubrovnik, you would have to go all the way around Italy, past Sicily and up to Amalfi Coast. That might be 24 hours or more on a barge. Makes more sense to fly from DBV to Naples.

We can't really offer advice until we know where in Croatia, for how many days, and where to in Amalfi (and how long it will take to get there). Post the details when you get them.

No way--check your facts.
There are boats to Italy, but not anyplace even close to the AC--which is on the other side on Italy. Do you have a map?

Unless this barge you speak of materializes, there are the regular ferries to Bari and Ancona.
