Need help getting from Stresa to Malpensa

We're staying in Stresa for the last three nights of our vacation, but we won't have a car. Unfortunately, our flight leaves at 7:00 am, so we can't take the train. Autoeurope won't rent a car for just one day (at least in this location) and we really don't want to spend our last night in an airport hotel. Does anyone know whether we could find a driver/car service to take us to the airport early in the morning? And do you have an estimate of the cost for such a service?
Thanks.

You might e-mail your hotel and ask then about hiring a driver. Should be doable.

There is a regular airport shuttle bus that goes to Malpensa that makes convenient stops in Stresa. I took it once at 5am, so you have to check there is an earlier pick-up, because it takes an hour to get to Malpensa and you need to be there by 5am optimal.

Check with your hotel. But otherwise you should have no trouble getting a car service through your hotel.

I would expect to pay at least 45e for the car service and my recollection of the bus was that it was 7e, but I'm not sure.

We used www.davideguerrera.it and were pleased.

Hmmm ! A private driver at 0400 to MXP---I would guess at least 100E.

SuQue,

Were you staying in Stresa? How much was the charge to Malpensa?

Thanks so much everyone. SueQu, I'll check the driver you used. And Nessundorma, I'll check on the shuttle bus, too. Since it's so early in the morning, maybe getting to the airport just an hour before the flight might work.

What's the driving time at that hour in the AM, 30-45 minutes? I guess if you can get a driver, I probably wouldn't move close to the airport just for an extra 30 minute sleep. My only concern would be making sure the driver showed up. :-) ((b))

FWIW - take a hotel near MXP for the last night. Reduce the bad odds, like a flat tire, an overturned truck, a this or that. Why worry?
