Here's a nice story about Le Castelas written by the couple who runs the tour I'm taking:

Well the sun came out briefly mid this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be a sunny day with a high of 23C. Thereafter overcast until next Wednesday and hopefully sunny days all the way!!!
bniemand, I wish you a safe and enjoyable journey to this part of the world. The Woods are au fait with the Luberon and I am sure you will undertake many more self-visits in the years to come. We have been back 3 times in the past 5 years - first time as honeymooners and the last 2 with our toddler. Thanks Kevin for the info on Le Castelas, will try to check it out, perhaps after market day this Friday at Lourmarin subject to weather of course. s |
Sorry Kevin, just a couple of more questions re Le Castelas.
1. Is it 1km south or north of the village of Sivergues; 2. Do they only serve all things goat/sheep related? My wife is not a chevre/lamb fan, just want to make sure there are other items on the menu that suit her. Many thanks again! s |
i can put this in a new post, but i am wondering if anyone could suggest a good route for a day long drive from arles to vaison la romaine. we don't need to start in arles, but i want to give my boyfriend a provencal city experience before we start for the cotes du rhone. up for other suggestions. we need to be in vaison la romaine by wednesday night so that we can drive around in the cotes du rhone on thursday and return to paris on friday. (quick trip)

Swag -
There is no menu - you sit down and food just starts showing up. You can call ahead and ask them what the main dish will be. Every time I've been it's either porc or baby goat. Don't think there is anything else they raise (or at least anything else you'd want to eat)... It's 1km south of Sivergues - there's the paved road in from Apt and then the dirt road out the opposite direction which dead end's at Le Castellas. -KEvin |
bniemand
Just thought you might like to know the rain finally stopped, the worst was last Friday. According to Meteo, it should be fine from now on for the rest of the week. s |
That's great news, thanks!
