Oscar--I dont know what sauns you have gone to-but my gay guide points out that there are gay saunas in both Prague and Budapest!! They also point out that there are some str8 saunas as well. Did u try gay sauns Kiraly and Rac?? The weather planner says average high temp in Budapest is 78 in Aug. As for Rio, it is not hot in Aug. That is its cooler season--temps in low 70s!! (In out winter it is 80s. there) And I heard it is not humid at all--probably because it is on the water. Living towards the "south" doesnt mean high humidity--i live in san diego where we have very very low humidity and temps no highe than 70s in summer!

Unle sam, am sure you are a closet case, afraid to come out because of aids. Yes, aids has been hard on gay community-but most use condoms and are not hiv pos! And apparently we, unlike you, are not so afraid of death that we are afraid to live! Anyway, more heterosexual people in the world have AIDS than do gays. So Sam, just come out and relax. Aids wont kill you--but your envy and repression may!!

Key info is that August is high season ANYWHERE in Europe, but low season in Rio (it's winter there, meaning 70s). I've been to all 3 cities as well & would expect that Rio would be more fun for gays, but I'm not so what do I know?! In this humble hetero woman's opinion though, the guys there are WAY hotter than in Eastern Europe (and wear lots less clothes). For what that's worth. It's cheap there right now too, according to my ex-husband who lives there. Argentine economy is hurting them too (lacking Argentine tourists AND being lumped into the same economic category by investors). I would strongly recommend visiting some of the small beach towns north & south of Rio - you'll find them in any guide book - as they're breathtaking.
Drink a caipirinha for me, & eat some moqueca de camarao. SIGH, I'm overdue for a visit!

Guys..i warned you someone like dear old Uncle Sam might pop up..but you all handled him well.
Maybe I was a little harsh by describing eastern europe as depressing..for one thing..i didnt do any gay things there..for another I tend to get depressed when I see so many poor white people.

Howitzer,

You must be a seer. You obviously knew that someone with a normal sense of morals and values would object to this amoral, perverted discussion and seeking of sex on this travel board.

Guess what they found someone, although I doubt that they "handled" him!

US

Sam, you're noone's uncle here, and your phobias are not the topic of this thread so if it bothers you go search for a thread on "where bigots can travel happily without bothering others."

Sam, since you have nothing to contribute to this thread other than your condescending attitude, why don't you just peruse and respond to another thread instead of this one. I have yet to see you make any constructive comments or recommendations regarding Budapest, Prague or Rio. Sam, its a shame that you are homophobic, and what is worse is that you can't stand a little ribbing. Too bad that you can't have a little tolerance, and that you have such a holier than thou attitude. Go look in the mirror, you are nothing other than a pompous ass, which is far worse than being gay or straight.

Uncle Sam, might you be Catholic and afraid to enter a church because of all of those pedophile and gay priests? Were you ever an altar boy and touched by one of those priests?

Can't help but wonder why the outside temperature and humidity should be an issue when you are in a sauna looking for very hot guys.

Anonimouse,

Let's get this straight, not a pun BTW, I am not afraid of homosexuals. The label homophobic is used by homosexuals and their defenders to describe anyone that disagrees with them or their homosexual lifestyle.

It is akin to calling someone that does not agree with racial preferences a racist. It is a typical means of tarring the person that doesn't agree. Nice technique, but a bit disengenuous!

Now I can take a lot of ribbing. It seems to me that it would be much easier to just go along and accept what I believe to be a dangerous lifestlye choice. I mean Kevin can play in the bathhouses all he wants, but it will shorten his life, could lead to a terrible death through aids and yet you remain tolerant of this behaviour while Kevin decides to do this to himself and who knows who else while having his fun,

Well good for Kevin and good for you and your tolerance. I sincerely hope he enjoys himself and I hope that he remains healthy because contrary to the position you ascribe to me I neither fear nor dislike Kevin.

But Kevin would be much wiser and safer and healthier if he could control himself.

And while I do not dislike or fear Kevin, I do not agree that his homosexuality is normal.

It is in fact abnormal and no amount of parading, or LAMBDA lobbying, etc will get me or most folks to change their minds.

And BTW, I do not announce myself as Uncle Sam heterosexual, I do not need Kevin or his ilk to share with me their homosexuality as if it is a badge of honor that they are homosexual...who cares!

US

Sam, lets get this right, you are homophobic and you do fear homosexuals. If you didn't you wouldn't rant and rave like you have been. You've hi-jacked this thread, and still have contributed nothing at all.

Honestly, why do you give a damn about Kevin? You don't know him, you'll most likely never meet him, so you shouldn't be afraid of him, or people that are like him. What's the chance that you're going to get HIV or Aids? Slim to none. You aren't gay, you are married and only have one sexual partner unless you cheat on your wife, or else you have protected sex. If you don't use intravenous drugs by sharing needles, then you have nothing to worry about. And, if you need a blood transfusion -- well, blood is tested for AIDS and HIV. Unless you work in law enforcement or the medical field, then your chances are also slim to none.

Sam, here's the big question -- if one of your children or grandchildren, your own flesh and blood, happened to come out and admit that s/he is gay, would you love the child or grandchild any less? Would you disown the child or grandchild? Would you not want the child or grandchild to be in a happy monogamous relationship with its own sex?

Get your head out of the sand. Maybe you don't have an aversion to men. Maybe you're curious, and possibly you are bi-sexual or gay, but you haven't come out of the closet yet.

For moral reasons, I do not believe that homosexuality is normal and neither you nor anyone else will convince me.

Thanks,

US

Sam, you don't like being a target, but you certainly like to point the finger at everyone else. This has become so enlightening. You're a terrible fraud.

By the way, you still haven't answered the question I asked as to what you would do if your son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter admitted that he or she is gay. With your moralistic, right winged attitude, like you said on another thread, I'm guessing that you would just "fry 'em". It's too bad that you didn't have a vasectomy when you were very young, as people like you should not contaminate the gene pool and propagate.

ohhh puleeessee....Uncle Sam is a bitter old queen whose "rapier" is hardly witty and is obviously blunt. Like how many closeted married men have we all met? You must fantsize a lot about what gay men do Uncle Sam in light of your interest in gay baths and gay sex. You can't teach an old dog new tricks but I'm sure Uncle Sam has more than enough money to buy one.

Now back to more important matters - a majority of the men in Eastern Europe are not - how shall we say - body fascists. My vote is for Rio.

I just saw something that I found very funny. Remember the old Uncle Sam posters where the old geezer is pointing a finger? The poster says "Uncle Sam Wants You". He was always looking for a FEW GOOD MEN (at the time women were only enlisting in the armed forces as nurses). Now I know why the armed forces have a "don't ask, don't tell" rule. Seems that our Uncle Sam is also looking for a few good men, but to satisfy his sexual fantasies.

Uncle Sam, on the eve of Independence Day, and the 226th birthday of the USA, it is time to come out of the closet, gain your independence and admit that you are gay.

Finally, you have admitted it. Just let us know when you want to get the whips, chains, anal plugs, vibrators and leather out. Do you also dress up in women's clothes? You've fallen from grace, and its a long fall out of that high and might ivory tower that you live in.
