need help about Beaulieu!

Hello,

My husband is crazy about old cars. He's deseperatly looking for parts of MG.B.
We heard about Beaulieu in September. What will happen exactly? What is the date? How to travel not expensive? Where can we sleep.
We live inFrance.Thanks

Are you talking about Beaulieu National Motor Museum? But I am not sure you could get parts over there. It is located in New Forest, opens every day except Christmas and New Year, for details, please check: www.Thenewforest.co.uk.

If you could travel by budget flight to London, train from London Waterloo station to Brockenhurst(less than 2 hours),then take a short taxi ride(about 10 pounds) to the museum. Every Sunday in the summer, there is direct bus by Solent Blue Line, but perhaps not in September.

For accommadations, there are quite a few B&B in Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst, both are nice villages.

I'm pretty sure salsa girl is asking about the big swap meet (Autojumble) at Beaulieu in the middle of Sept.

Most of the details you'll need are on the web site http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/

The best way would be to take a cheap flight to England (there are inexpensive flight to different UK airports depending on what part of France you are in). Then you can take the train to Southampton, Brockenhurst, Lymington or other towns in the New Forest. Then a taxi to Beaulieu.

I expect that the place will be very crowded, but a great event for car junkies. You should be able to find lots of car parts - or get contacts with many dealers/hobbyists.

This may be a bit obvious, but is salsagirl's husband in touch with one of the MG enthusiasts' clubs:

The handiest airport for Beaulieu is Southampton, which has flights to more cities in France than Heathrow - mostly operated by low-cost airlines. Flying into Luton or Stansted can make the journey in the UK tricky. Birmingham, which also has a good number of low-costs, is well situated on the train network
