Aujourd'hui = today
Matin = morning Apres-midi = afternoon Soiree = evening Nuit = night The following boxes show the next couple of days. You can google the days of the week in French to find what they're called. Under options you can change celsius to fahrenheit. |

....... and which TV Channel do Parisians tune in on for their daily weather report ? Would like to be prepared for a month long stay in the capital this October.

When you have full cable service, there is a weather channel, but normally people just watch channel 1, 2 or 3 which all have a weather report both before and after the news. The main news times on channels 1 and 2 are 13:00 and 20:00 (on channel 3 it is 12:30 and 19:30. Channel 2 also has the morning show from 6:30 to 8:30 with news and weather often.
And of course there are news channels, too... |
I like the Yahoo weather as well as any. You can get the 10 day extended. These are only to get an idea of what you can expect.
They are as good as you have at home!! It may rain on one side of town/or street and not the other. Joan |
Weather underground: www.wunderground.com/global/FR.html
and Meteo France (english page): http://www.meteo.fr/meteonet_en/index.htm But remember, they're just as bad as US forecasters ;) |
An extended forecast is not very useful - the weather is just too variable in Paris, as you'll see if you continue to check every day between now and departure.
It's a good tool for finalizing your packing, paying attention to the highs and the lows, but you still need to plan for warmer and cooler. When I checked a few days ago, temps were going to be in the high 60's, then high 70's, now high 60's again. It's useless to worry about rain, especially in advance of your arrival. Most often, rain is brief showers, which may occur in one neighborhood and not another. Sometimes the rain is overnight or very early in the morning. During all my trips to Paris, I can think of only two days (on different trips) when it actually rained, off and on, all day long. And, the weather is particularly variable between seasons, such as during mid-September, where you can experience three seasons during a week, or even the same day. |
Thanks for the great info--
