French canals, Self guided boat tour

I want to plan a trip for 6 adults in summer of 1999 for three weeks on the canals of middle and southern France, Burgundy and Bordeaux country, a self-guided canal boat tour, stopping in villages for the night.
We would like to know possibilities and options, some costs, and travel information. We would probably start in Paris.

I posted a trip report on our trip down the Canal du Midi some time ago; you can find it using canal trip or canal du midi in the search feature on this forum. If you can't find it, just send mail. It was a fantastic trip and we used Rives de France--they were great.

I, too, used Locaboat Plaisance last October and had a great time. We cruised the Canal du Rhone in the Camargue region of France. What a way to see the countryside. Check out www.locaboat.com.
