need cheap bordeaux hotel near gare
 

Hi Guys
Can one of you recommend an inexpensive hotel near the Gare St. jean? We just need it the one nite, and from my googles, many appear charmless. I know nothing about the town except what i've read and was put off by a description of some 'industrial area" on one post. I leave Tues.

Why stay by the RR station? It has direct tram connections to the center of town.

I agree with Michael. The tram is modern, very attractive, cheap, and a short ride from the centre of town. We stayed at the Bayonne Etche-Ona Bordeaux, right on the Cours Clemenceau, great location, and certainly not charmless.

we need an easy central meeting point for me coming on the train after the long flight into paris, he from amsterdam flight, they from flight from spain, w/ car and unfamiliarity w/ france.
