Need Amalfi Coast rental suggestions!!

Hi. I am planning on going to Italy, the Amalfi Coast specifically, from approximately July 15th to August 15th and I am desperately looking for a place to rent for a month. I need two bedrooms and some charm, a full kitchen and I can spend up to $2000 a week. Anywhere near Amalfi will be fine. Ravello, Positano, Praino, etc. Thanks for listening. Liza

Hi liza,

You are budgeting 116 E/nite for an apt.

Would you mind staying in a hotel, with bkfst, maid service and beautiful views for only 100E/nite - 75 if you share a bath?

They also have cocktails in the evening (xtra charge).

See www.lesirene.it

ira - please check your arithmetic.

>I can spend up to $2000 a week.<

2000/7 = $286 per nite
286/1.23 = 231E per nite
231/2 = 116E/nite per room

Did I do something wrong?

>You are budgeting 116 E/nite for an apt.< vs. >231/2 = 116E/nite per room<

lizagirl is budgeting €1626/week (€232/nite) for "two bedrooms and some charm, a full kitchen".

Dear tuck,

I see, I should have written, "You are budgeting 116 E/nite PER BEDROOM for an apt".

My hotel suggestion doesn't include a kitchen, but it does have 2 ensuite bathrooms, AC and breakfast.

Also check venere.com. They list 37 apartments, 2 residences, 2 villas in Sorrento. I didn't check the rest of their Amalfi coast listings but I'm sure there are several in the area.

Another site to try is www.sorrentoinfo.com

I would recommend posting again for SEA URCHIN, a regular contributor who seems lucky enough to spend lots of time on the Amalfi Coast and in Sorrento. Also check Slowtrav.com, which is a great overall resource for Italy. Thirdly, start praying! July-August is often booked months, even a year ahead on the AC. Good luck!
