need advice on stay

Hi, is the latin quarter the best place to stay in paris for a family visiting the place for the first time? Would appreciate help. Looking for a budget hotel that is clean and convenient for travel, without thin walls and plumbing that keep you awake.

No, it's just one of many good places. It's perfectly fine - along with many other areas of the city.

Do a search here for paris budget hotel and you're bound to find numerous suggestions.

But, if you could list what you have in mind for room requirements (2 doubles, 1 quad, etc.) and price, I'm sure others will chime in here. :)

have looked at almost all the sites. looking for a triple room with hotel staff who are helpful.

I think thin walls might be a 'standard feature' in budget hotels...

I meant do a search of this site. The search box is at the top. And knowing that you need a triple, search for "paris hotel triple" without the quotes. Also, we still don't know your budget to help further . . .

I don't recommend searching to be snarky, but simply because there really is a lot of good info around here already. I've seen many posts about triple rooms in Paris, so you might find a great answer that way before someone with the perfect info finds this post.

Hi j,

What is your budget?

josephjs Feb 25th, 2005 12:16 PM

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions, especially on doing a search of this site. my budget is max 125 euro. don't know whether it is a tall order, but looking for a place where we can have a good night's sleep with a toilet that is clean and friendly and helpful hotel staff. After a whole day's sightseeing one would be too tired on return, so a nice hotel would make a lot of difference.

I stayed in Hotel St. Andre Des Arts in the 6th my first time in Paris. I had a "romantic" notion that I wanted a historic building in the heart of the historic City. Boy did I get/find one! It once quartered the real Musketeers, but I digress... The staff was nice; the rooms were clean and large. No TV, no elevator, its only a 1*... but I sorta liked it alot!
The corners might be a bit tattered here and there (Rugs...wall fittings, etc.) but then my fittings are a little tattered too and I wasn't built in the 16th century ...
Just FYI
