Thanks everyone!! Opinions on Wurtzburg?

What price range are you talking about for a hotel in Heidelberg?

Thanks everyone!! Opinions on Wurtzburg?>
Well yah on Wuerzburg - know didilly about Wurtzburg (was that the home of baseball stud Vick Wurtz?) I would rate Wurzburg (dropping the e and can't make the unlah) very high - about the same as Heidelberg but without a castle as awe-inspiring as Heidelberg's is to me But a real sweet nice town with a plethora of ancient buildings and lovingly backdropped by vineyard-carpeted hills. |
I have stayed in several family-run guesthouses in Cochem and they all were perfectly nice, friendly places - so i think you cannot go wrong really - nice hearty breakfast - down comforters for the not unusual cool summer nights, etc. The one artsnletters describes sounds exceptionally wonderful but if it is full there are many other cozy places you will adore-family-run places the likes of which you rarely encounter in larger tourist cities like Frankfurt or Munich.

Thank you all!
Hans, I would guess we would want to spend less than $150 US a night in Heidelberg. |
If you want to economize and stay in a city centrally located from which to hop to nearby Heidelberg as well as the Rhine or even the Black Forest by train then stay in the ETAP Hotel in the centrum of Darmstadt- i have made this my base twice now for a wide area - and rooms for up to 3 folks are about35 euros- nice modern motel-like hotel- about a 15 minute walk from the train station.
www.etaphotels.com or www.accorhotels.com Darmstadt is not a tourist mecca but is a pleasant town with a nice pedestrian shopping zone and a few historical monuments of its own. |
Hi Everyone,
Is this something I should consider doing for 30 Euro per person? It only happens twice a year. But I was thinking that there may be other options. Has anyone done this before? Thanks for any suggestions or advice!
