Need a recommendation for an affordable 1/2 day cooking class in Rome

Hello,

I will be in Rome in a few days and would love to take a cooking class with my 20 year old daughter. We don't have to do a food market tour with the class, as I am looking for a more affordable option. A half day or even a few hours would be fine. It doesn't have to be a gourmet type class, we are mainly looking for a fun, hands on class to experience making homemade Italian food. It can even be as simple as learning to make pizza, pasta or gelato.

I have researched for options, but it looks like most of the classes are pretty expensive or all day.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

In May of 2011 I took a half day cooking class with my 20 year old nieces while in Rome. It was with Andrea Consoli at www.cookingclassesinrome.com We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, it was high on my nieces' list of their favorite Rome memories. I just did a quick check and the class can run about 5 hours and the price is 65 euros per person. The class size is small so we made our reservations well before the date we wanted. I hope this is helpful information. Deborah

Hi Deborah,

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for! I just sent him an email. I am trying to book something 6 days from now, so hopefully we can get in.

In case I can't get into that cooking class, does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

These recommendations come from Rome based Elizabeth Minchilli:

www.Italyhotline.com. Click on food/wine and they will be listed by city or region.

www.Tricoloremonti.it

The above offers bread making and pizza making options.

Thanks Denisea! The first option is too expensive for me. I looked at the website for the second option, but it's in Italian with no option for English. I think bread making and pizza making would be fun, so I think I will call them for details.

Thanks again!

Anyone else have any other suggestions?
