Need a London flat in September
 

I'm new at this so please forgive any errors I make. My husband and I , in our very early 50's, are travelling for the first time Aug - Oct this year. We are Australian and are travelling to Europe and the UK for 11 weeks. As part of the adventure we are self-driving UK for basically all of Sept. We need a London flat for 5 nights in the last week of Sept. Due to my hesitations and lack of knowledge I have already missed out on a few flats that I enquired about. We just can't decide which area is best to position ourselves. We want somewhere quite central - we hope to pack a lot into the 4 1/2 days we have. We are both very healthy and active and do not at all mind walking for considerable distances. We don't want a tiny studio though, but somewhere that we can relax after a day's heavy sight seeing should we need to do so. We want to see some of the main historical things plus do some shopping and try to fit in just sitting in the park. I've followd "idesofmarch" and "crazyfamilyof4" conversations and can see that I may get some very useful advice through this forum. I have also looked at a number of agencies and have found numerous flats within our budget. I would really appreciate advice on location. At this point the Theobald's Rd or Fitzroy St options are looking the best to us. http://www.vrbo.com/419928

108571 is by far the most central- but that terrace in Fitzrovia does look nice.

Living in London - I'd probably prefer one of the Fitzrovia flats. But for a very short stay like yours, I'd choose 108571.

It is VERY close to the river, Embankment, Trafalgar Sq, Covent Garden, Westminster, the Eye . . . just LOADS of things.

janisj is right, 108571 is a great location and the most convenient.

That said, none of those location look 'bad' either. In other words, you can't go wrong (location-wise) with this lot :)

Looking at the description of 453786, i agree with Ssachida, you can't go wring with the location. There's a lot going on around the area. :)

I don't think the OP is still around. Posted this and never returned. Emillttle topped several stale/oldish threads about London flats - some (though not this post) seem to be advertising.

To the OP-read some of these finer descriptions above...4 floor-lugging luggage and no a/c,sleeps 3 with a futon and sofa bed?
Sorry but if you go on something like Booking.com you can find decent hotels for the same price that will have elevators,full sized beds and possibly a breakfast.
