Dukey, you might want to look at a map. I believe Hazlitt's is exactly one block from Covent Garden. Surely you don't think that Covent Garden just means "the Market"?
Hazlitt's is supposed to be wonderful and just like you say you want, but I know people who have stayed at The Covent Garden Hotel only because they can never get in at Hazlitt's. Does it have availability?
Meanwhile my choice if both Hazlitt's and Covent Garden Hotel are full would be the Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten which is right next door to Covent Garden Hotel -- at Seven Dials. Great location and wonderful hotel. I once had two female friends staying there for a week -- the hotel gave them a great price but told them it was a small room, which was fine as we were hanging out in our rental loft flat a couple blocks away. But despite the tiny room, they LOVED the hotel and everything about it.

I stayed at Hazlitt's last year and loved it, really no complaints except the room was at the very top, no elevator and the stairs had a decided tip to the right especially towards the top floors. I liked the area with many good restaurants, cafes and theatres. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stanley,
I know you made reservations already but I just remembered a frequent poster here(who has since been barred)used to rent a flat on Floral St. from Farnum-Christ. I don't know the price range but the website is www.farnum-christ.com

Hmm. I suspect that last post is about me.
I've not been barred, however.
Yes. I'll be back in our Covent Garden flat from Farnum-Christ this June for about the 10th time --I've lost track.
If you go to the website, it's the Floral Street one. Are you staying a week which is the minimum?

I was only "gone" for a week after that crazy lady who started two or three threads to insult me got to me and I yelled at her so she complained. Meanwhile she disappeared never to come back -- no loss since she NEVER posted anything about travel anyway.

I've also stayed at Hazlitt's a few years ago, and liked it a lot. The rooms are very charming and quirky, with great old antiques and bookcases. We had a claw-foot tub in the bathroom. It definitely has the feeling of staying in someone's old house rather than a hotel.
I thought the location was great- especially for the theater. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, too.
The Covent Garden Hotel has been on my list, too, but I've never stayed there-- yet.

If you want convenience and comfort in Covent Garden, then Kingsway Hall is definitly a winner. Its just a couple of blocks from the Market and the Tube station, The Strand is just a few blocks the other way. Lots of choice in eating places nearby. Nice quiet neighborhood. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
