Need a Great Spot for Dinner - Easy Walk from Gare de Lyon?

we are meeting friends at Gare de Lyon on a Sunday night... anyone know a great restaurant (informal, if possible) an easy walk away? or even a good place for a drink?

Le Train Bleue, in the station itself, is a beautiful brasserie.

Brasseries, by definition, are casual.

Food is classic French-Alsatian

We ate here and it was very nice and reasonable:
L'Arrosoir
75 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris, France

Another vote for Train Bleu - we've dined there 5 to 6 times, and this July will be # 6 to 7.

I consider it to be a "must see" in Paris.

[I thought Le Train Bleu was a bit pricey]

We have reservations for Le Train bleu before leaving Paris for Switzerland. I consider its prices an introduction to Swiss prices, but we will do it this once.

Le Train Bleu can't be an easier walk right on the upstairs at the station. Look at images. You will be in a dazzling ornate dining hall. Casual except perhaps the tourists. Families and colleague having get togethers.

thanks so much for is! can't believe how gorgeous "le train bleu" is. however, there will be 5 of us, so i think it's a bit over budget.

L'Arrosoir looks like an easy walk... and is more in our price range.

i'm thinking hubbie and i will get there early and have a drink at le train bleu as we wait for our friends to arrive. then we'll all walk over to L'Arrosoir for dinner.

they both seem to be open late on sundays, which is great since our friends don't arrive until 9pm. thanks again!

It is an easy, safe walk to L'Arrosoir. We had lunch there last November and were able to sit outside which was very nice. We stayed at the Novotel that is right by the Gare de Lyon [first stay in Paris hotel - had always stayed in apartments] and got to know the 11th and it's surrounds much better. We left a day before the bombings

La biche au bois.
Down the street in front of the station - max 250 meters.
Very crowded, very french.

Great food, prices reasonable, and some fantastic wines - very cheap for the quality - they had a gorgeous côte rôtie recently for about 40 e per bottle - a bargain for such a wine.

I recently (lat week) went to le train bleu. For a drink...
I'll go back because I really like the decorum - the vegetarian meal is the only one I can afford ;-)

L'Européen - the brasserie right in front is ok - avoid the white wine 'Buzet' but the ratio price/quality is quite good.

I was also going to suggest La Biche au Bois, but I see it would have been both redundant and logistically impossible. So I won't. Sundays can be tough.
