Naxos ferry terminal to Kalergis hotel
What is the best way to get from the Naxos ferry terminal to the Kalergis Hotel/studios? Do I take a cab? Is this a walkable distance? If I take a cab, what instructions do I tell the driver?
We'll be arriving on Sunday, Sept. 25th, and I'm anticipating taking the 15:30 ferry from Santorini, arriving around 17:30.
Thanks,
Paule

I suspect they will pick you up. Frankly we prefer to walk to St Geroge just to absorb the Naxos atmosphere however if you do not know where you are going that could be a daunting task. If they don't pick you up just grab a taxi. It will be a bit of a round about route as they have to leave town to get to St George. Once you figure out where things are you will be surprised how close it all is.

They wrote back and told me to take a taxi, that it should be @ 6 euros. But reading that most places pick one up, well, I guess I'm a little bothered, but the cost is so low that I can't get too annoyed about it.
Since I don't know where I'm going, I think the cab will make more sense than trying to walk right away!

I am surprised they are not picking you up but as you say it is only 6 euros.
On our first trip to Naxos we took a taxi and I tried to memorize the route the taxi takes to get to the hotel. There was no way I could follow all the twists and turns primarily because the roads causes the taxi to go all the way around town. I was a bit concerned about how we would ever get back to the ferry dock and the main waterfront promenade but in fact once you are on foot it is a an easy short walk.

Don't be upset, have looked at the hotels website, and they don't mention anywhere a free transfer...
Usually bigger hotels have a minivan and offer free transfers.
They always mention it on their website as an extra service.

Thanks for the feedback and reassurance. I wasn't bothered until I saw that most places did pick folks up. They wrote back and said that they don't have the car/van to do it. Their rates are so low that I don't begrudge them one less service, and the 6 euros is not going to hurt me.
Thanks Stanbr for giving me a picture of what to expect. That's so helpful!
