Navigating the Swiss travel system

I have decided that the 4 day Swiss Travel Pass would work well for our itinerary. I am looking to add the Half Fare card for CHF 60pp as we will be doing the Jungfraujoch excursion. No problem booking the original travel pass, but can't seem to find where to add the half fare charge.

Sent an email to the provider, but no response.

Anybody have a suggestion

Who is the provider? If you have not bought you pass yet check U.S. sources too as they could be cheaper for the same thing as has often been the case in the past but not always.

Do you have a consecutive-day pass? If so you would get 25% off Wengen/Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch (rest fully covered from Interlaken-Ost) and if a consecutive-day pass you always get 50% usually with the pass - is it worth the 60 CHF for the half-fare card- the half-off offer is I believe only with flexipasses for 50% off on days in between fully covered travel days. If a flexipass then yes the half-off Half-Fare Card is a great deal.

for lots of info on Swiss trains check www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com

and is a 4-day flexipass you may want to opt for a 3-day flexipass as using the 50% off pass on the 4th day may be cheaper than buying a 4-day pass rather than a 3-day flexipass.

Remind us, Pal, but aren't ALL of these products available for sale when you arrive in Switzerland?

PalenQ Jul 30th, 2016 12:16 PM

Yup - no need to pre-book but again often in the past several years the same pass has been cheaper here than there - just compare and if little difference just buy on arrival at any Swiss train station - as Dukey suggests - NO need to pre-book.

Curious as to what are your travel plans - a Swiss Transfer Ticket + half-off Half Card may be a great deal if you are staying in one location.

Swiss Transfer Ticket gives a train/bus/boat ticket from any border station or international airport to any location in Switzerland and then a ticket from that place out to any border station or airport - you can buy a half-off Half-Fare Card with it to get 50% everything that moves in Switzerland just about in between those trips. Can be a better deal than a straight up half-fare card or a Swiss Pass if just going to one location and back out.
