Um, I believe Sandeep is a little boy's name. I used to work with one, and one of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon's octuplets is a male of that name.
Or maybe it's like "Pat" or "Sandy."

Yes, there is an escalator. There is no guarantee that it will be working when you need it. Twice when I was making this schlep it was not in operation.
I echo what others have said, if at all possible take a taxi or shuttle.

They don't have to go through turnstiles. There are doors next to the turnstiles that can be opened by the ticket "clerk". That said, this can't be fun and I'd consider a taxi or the shuttle.

Hi,
I just got back in town from a long weekend (Memorial Day) and hadn't checked the replies until now. Yes, this is my first post on the Fodor's forum.
I will be transiting CDG on my way to India and am carrying a lot of gifts for various friends and relatives. Hence, the 100 lbs of luggage
About 7 years back I did deposit 2 big bags at the Gare Du Nord left luggage facility. So I know that can be done.
I don't remember too much of the RER station regarding stairs etc. Based on the replies regarding stairs, turnstiles, etc - RER seems to be out.
Another search turned out Bagages Du Monde http://www.bagagesdumonde.com/Pages_eng/stockage.htm Has anyone used them?
Thanks,
Sandeep

The RER has special baggage passages and ALWAYS escalators and elevators, so I don't understand the complaints about turnstiles and stairs.
When in doubt -- DON'T follow the crowd. As soon as the crowd clears, you can see the escalators and elevators that were invisible due to all the people running for the stairs.

Take a taxi..for what it will cost, you won't feel a thing...a week or less later, it will all be forgotten.
Wife and I travel under this : "Why make it difficult if we're here to explore, enjoy, and experience"...??

kerouac, I remember escalators, but I don't remember elevators at the RER track level. Perhaps, I didn't see them. It seems that Bagages Du Monde might be the simplest thing for me. I could leave my luggage at the airport and then take the RER into town.
Thanks,
Sandeep

Elevators, puleeze! I was in Paris with my 76 year old, non-athletic mother 2 weeks ago and the elevator in the Cité metro stop was not working (comme d'hab) and the poor thing really struggled getting up all those stairs. I live in Lausanne and go to Paris frequently and have rarely seen an elevator work in the Métro, not at St Michel, Cité, Abbesses, etc. So don't count on that.
But what you can do, and I have done is push my bag through the turnstile first. If the barrier closes on me, I just climb over it. Nobody has ever stopped me and I am a 52 year old semi-fit housewife.
