Nauplion Hotels........Ilion or Nafsimedon?

I posted this question sometime ago but maybe there are some more recent experiences:

Anyone have any personal experience with either of these two "boutique" hotels....the Ilion and/or the Nafsimedon. They both look nice through their web sites. Thank you.

Hi,
We stayed at the Illion and loved it. We had an enormous suite with a wonderful, spacious balcony, a whirlpool tub, etc. The service was the best we got during our stay in Greece, and it was so conveniently located to everything in town. They had great breakfasts too!

The only small gripe I had was that you can't drive right up to it and we had to drag your luggage a block or so to get there, and it's a bit of a hassle with all the steps there are in the town. By the way, the hotel itself also doesn't have elevators in case you need to consider that.

Still, I thoroughly recommend this hotel. We'd go back and stay there in a heartbeat.

Hailbuzzy: Thank you for the great recommendation. Do you by chance remember the name of the suite that you stayed in at the Ilion? David

Hey David,
I do not remember the name off the top of my head. But I did find a website w/ a picture - it is the righmost picture on the top row. Clearly, it is not the most calming of rooms - very red and orange w/ gold accents... I must admit, it was a bit of a shock to the senses when I first entered!! But it really grew on me http://www.interdynamic.net/hotelpho...ropertyID=3043

I have a few personal pictures of the room as well if you wish to see them. I can email 'em to you if you leave me your address.

Take care.

Stayed at the Ilion last September and really liked it ... it's very eclectic and has a wonderful breakfast served on their little outdoor patio. The "artwork" in the rooms and on the headboards is a kick. Another American couple staying there had an enormous room with most of the decor in blue and interesting art - they nicknamed it the "Viagra room" (the art was, well, "semi-erotic"?). Excellent service and well situated.

Stayed at the Nafsimedon in November 2000. It's in an renovated Venetian house. My room was in the main house - there are some apartments in the rear. I liked the breakfast, room and the staff. It is centrally located in town and easy to walk to the bus or train station and the sights. I would stay there again.

Hailbuzzy: If you do send photos please mark it so that I know it is from you and about the Ilion....there are alot of viruses going around today on the internet and I may discard it thinking it is unfriendly......
