National Trust free entry for the stranded

One small piece of good news for those overseas visitors currently stranded here in the UK due to the volcano flight disruption. National Trust have announced free entry to many (but not all) of their properties to visitors who can show a flight ticket for the affected period and their passport. With the nice Spring weather, it may help to take minds off the difficulties for a few hours.

Excellent.

It's good to read accounts of companies/people trying to do something positive, in contrast to the horrible gouging and touting that's gone on with some hotels, train tickets etc.

Bad luck for those who always leave their passports in their hotel rooms! Will a photocopy or a Nevada drivers license do instead?
