Naples to Venice...HELP!
Fiancee and I are flying into Rome (3 nights), taking train to Naples and then the other train into Sorrento (3 nights).
Our plan is to take the train back to Naples and then the train on to Venice (4 nights), but is there a better way? Is flying out of the question? If flying is a good idea...where should I look and about how much will it cost? |
I myself am planning for my trip next spring and I'm pretty sure you can take a train from Naples to Venice. I know that from Rome to Naples is about a 4 hour train ride. I would suggest the train so you can see the scenary if you have the extra time to spare. From postings here Trenitalia has been recommended as a source (apparently you can't buy your tickets from the US to have in hand). Also check out eurorail.com (you can get an idea of distances, routes, and you can buy the tickets in the US before departure).

I have done alot of research on this route( I will be flying from Venice to Naples)you can do the reverse.
Check out www.flyineurpoe.com the fare is $99- and worth the small difference in train fare to fly,IMO. Best of luck Fluffy |
Don't go by train. It's nearly 4 hours from Naples to Rome, and another 6, plus commuting, to Venice.
There 's cheap airfare for flights between Naples/VCE on: http://www.alpieagles.com/ Alternatively at: http://www.meridiana.it |
Naples to Venice: If you choose to stick with the train idea, I'd definitely recommend looking into an overnight route, and rent a private sleeper compartment. Or else fly.
