Naples to Rome Airport
 

Anyone know of any cheap options? I can't seem to find anything other than returning to Rome and doing the L. Express number.

You imply the train is not a cheap option - i think it is and the quickest perhaps. Be in the airport in perhaps less than 3 hrs.

meant to add train can be very cheap as apparently this Naples-Rome line routinely has 2 for 1 ticketing.

I'd think you'd have to hit everything perfectly and not run into a single hitch to make it in 3 hours.

I know the fastest express trains from Naples to Rome take about an hour and 45 minutes, then you've got a 15 minute walk to the Leonardo Express train station area (unless they have moved it to the central Termini since June... i've heard they have plans to do so), catch the Leonardo Express (they come only twice per hour), then have a 30 minute ride to the airport.
I suppose if you timed it perfectly, you might indeed be able to do this in around 3 hours. But that would mean you didn't get lost getting from the Termini to the LE Train area, and that you were able to catch a LE train without waiting more than about fifteen minutes.

I'd allow more like 3.5 - 4 hours for a less stressful trip.

P.S. We've used the Due per Uno (2 for 1) discount on this route a few times. It can make the trip cheaper than taking the slower IC Plus trains.
The Eurostar train really is a most convenient way of getting between Rome and Naples

One would think there may be Naples- Rome Airport buses direct - maybe not faster but more convenient than doing the yes long Sclepp at Termini to the Airport Express tracks, far down from the main station on the west side, etc.

Do you know when exactly they plan to move the LE tracks to the main Termini station track area? I had heard that it was to be done last December but we didn't see a sign of it when we were there in mid-June.

A direct bus certainly would be convenient, especially for those with limited mobility or a lot of luggage. I haven't read about one, but then again... have never specifically looked into it.

No not me - was there in Jan and still long commute to airport train from main concourse.

There is no direct bus service, unfortunately :(

And you won't, unless you are willing to hire a driver for about 400E. :)

I strongly suggest that, unless your plane is leaving around 17:00, that you spend your last night in Rome.

Years ago there was an Alitalia train route from FCO to Naples.

There is a bus (12.55E)from Salerno to FCO but the time is usually not convenient. It doesn't stop in Naples, but I guess it would be possible to catch it in Casserta since it makes a stop there.
