Naples to Positano Transportation Question
Hi, My husband and I are traveling in early August with our 3 year old to the Amalfi coast. We fly into Naples and have booked our accommodation in Positano. What is the best way to get from naples to positano in the busy august month? In searching online for ferry schedules, I have been unable to find timings for Naples to Positano (but the other way around is available).
Also, from Positano to enjoy the scenic amalfi coast drive, what is best option? It sounds like the SITA buses and ferries both get very crowded in the summer months but which one would be easier out of the two? Is it worth it to hire a private driver or with the congested roads?
Thank You!

I'd go further and suggest you hire a driver to pick you up at the airport and take you directly to your hotel. All that schlepping after a flight, all that extra stuff you'll be carrying, add heat/humidity/crowds... I'd rather sit in an air conditioned car, not worry about anything and just enjoy the scenery.

I agree with Jean about hiring a driver to take you to your hotel.
And with Sassafrass about taking the ferry to view the coastal towns from the water.
Do check for most recent info, but when DH and I stayed in Sorrento, the city bus went to the town of Amalfi first. Our Italian wasn't good but we were told that then we had to get a different bus to go on to Ravello.
It took us over an hour to bus from Sorrento to Amalfi in March. We gave the driver an ovation--much negotiating with tour busses on curvy roads. I actually felt a bit dizzy. Something to consider with a toddler?
More recent visitors can confirm.

Hi All, Thank you for your feedback. We were leaning towards a private transfer just for the convenience and def will go that route now! After a flight, connecting by public transport through Sorrento does not seem that appealing with a kid and luggage.
Once in Positano we plan on taking ferries to explore Amalfi and Capri
For any recent travelers, if you have recommendations for drivers for private transfers, would appreciate those.
Thank you!

We used Francesco Marrapese for transportation to Positano.

We also used Tiber Limos.

Both services were excellent.
