Naples to Pompeii
 

I'm thinking of taking advantage of cheap flights to Naples. Has anyone got advice on the best way to get to Pompeii from Naples, we will only have a couple of days.

the circumvesuvian railway from Napolii Centrale (lower floor) - Direct to Pompeii Scavii - on line to Sorrento. Takes about 30 min if I remember rightly

The Circumvesuviana train is easy. The Pompeii Scavi stop is right at the entrance to the site. You just have to run the gauntlet of people trying to convince you that they have the perfect spot for you to eat or have a drink.

Watch your bag/wallet on the Circumvesuviana. The last time I went to Pompeii, I was getting on the train with my friend, and a tourist couple next to us got pushed as they were getting on. Turns out the "pusher" lifted the guy's wallet.
