Naples-Moderate Hotels

We will be in Naples the first week of September and would like to make hotel reservations. A view is not important, but location and comfort are. I've read positive posts on Rex and Parteno. Is one better than the other, or does anyone have another suggestion? Thanks!

Letitia,
I just got back from a stay at the Parteno and although it is listed as a moderate place to stay there is nothing moderate about it. It is lovely. The rooms are big, the color scheme is well thought out, care has been taken with all the little details (pretty tiles in the bathroom, attractive towel racks, interesting mirrored chandelier) , the breakfast area faces the bay. The staff is helpful and friendly. I also stayed at the more upscale Miramare and although I enjoyed it, I preferred the Parteno.I don't think you could go wrong there. The description of the Rex , at least in some of the guidebooks, makes it sound like it's only redeeming feature is the price.

M.
PS The Parteno books up quickly ( theyonly have six rooms).

The Rex is a fantastic value for price and location. The Parteno is more expensive and more intimate, also great location.
