Naples Airport to Capri

We are planning a trip to the Amalfi coast and Capri. We are flying into Naples. Is the easiest way to get to Capri from the airport...
1) Taxi from airport to Naples Molo Beverello
2) Hydrofoil or Ferry to Capri
3) Taxi to Hotel (not sure where we are staying yet

This sounds like a lot, is it too much after a flight from London? If so I guess we could spend the night in Naples. I know some people love Naples, others not so much.

Thank you.

We flew into Naples from Seattle last summer on Delta. Took the bus outside the ferry terminal to the Molo Beverello port for a couple of euros. It took about an hr. because of the horrendous noonday traffic. It is about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to the ferries to Capri. No problems. We spent a night at the Jolly Roger Hotel in Naples on our way back to the states. Spent a very interesting afternoon at the Archeological Museum.

I am not a fan of Naples-filthy, crowded slums but as you say, many other enjoy this city. BTW, we stayed at the beautiful La Minerva Hotel on Capri for 3 nights- excellent hotel which I can highly recommend.

We did this in June after about 18 hours in transit from Chicago, and it wasn't a big deal. Like aneckc, we took the bus from the airport to Piazza Municipio (3€) and walked about three blocks to Molo Beverello (we had 22" rolling bags; a taxi might be easier with a lot of luggage). The hydrofoil took about 45 minutes, then we left our bags with a porter (8€ per bag), took the funicular (1€) to Capri town, and walked to our hotel - La Minerva. IIRC, we landed at Naples at about 3:00 and were at our hotel around 5:30.

I, by the way, am one of those who really liked Naples and enjoyed spending time there.

Thank you for the information. MS GO where did you stay in Naples? Hotel and neighborhood. I would assume staying in the right neighborhood in a good hotel would make a very big difference.

Thanks, Inor

inor - our hotel (B&B Donna Regina) is described in our trip report:

We were a little adventurous with our choice - a B&B in the heart of the centro storico, not an upscale hotel. It might not be for everyone, but we liked it.
