Nafplio - beautiful former Capital of Greece!
Having researched about Nafplio also on Fodors.com forum, despite being a Greek that is (!), I thought I should give something back to the great people here that light the hidden alleys of every place!
I visited Nafplio, the former Capital of Greece two months ago. Nafplio has a unique problem. It has an obvious beauty, thrown before your very eyes, without any distractions whatsoever! I elected to show you Nafplio's double character: A picturesque town, but also a place with remnants of its glorious past everywhere... See this beautiful place here, at my Nafplio photo gallery: http://www.larios.gr/gallery_227077.html The easiest (and most relaxing!) way to "travel" to Nafplio through my photos, is by downloading and watching the (free!) brief 3.5 min Nafplio photo slideshow. Find it here: http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html *BUT* put the sound to ON. Enjoy!!! Would appreciate any of your comments at my guestbook: http://www.larios.gr/guestbook.html Best regards and thanks for the great insight in exploring this place! _________ Yannis |
Thank you again Yannis !
Your art is inspirational to me. We have been to Nafplio and the Mayor even tried to hit on my wife. You have made it come alive--better than my first trip there. |
Beautiful photos, Bravo!
I was in Nafplio 3 yrs ago, after viewing your photos I am ready to book a trip again :-) |
Thank you, very very much Yannis.
Thanks to you, we shall add Peloponnese peninsula to our list of next vacation. I took the liberty to have a look to other photos also and enjoyed a lot. Thank again for sharing with us these photos. |
We were just in Nafplio last week, and it was really wonderful. The town itself is lovely, nice cafes, restaurants, shops, beautiful squares, a pretty waterfront. And the huge Venetian fortress that towers over the town is wonderful to explore.
We made Nafplio our base for exploring the Peloponnese for 3 days, and it worked out beautifully. There's a lot to see very close by. Alice |
The pictures are beautiful. I must show them to my husband. He has been resistant to a vacation in Greece.
If this does not convince him, he is hopeless. Sherry |
Thank you for your kind comments! Really appreciated!
Nafplio is the way you all describe and more! The best I could do to convey the mood of it, was the brief photo slideshow (with music!): http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html Download for free and enjoy! Best regards and thanks again! Yannis |
