Nafplio
How can we get from the Athens Airport to Nafplio on September 13? Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 9:45 PM.
Can we get from Nafplio to Kalambata & Meteora? Would it be possible to stop in Delphi either going or returning? How can we get from Nafplio to Piraeus? Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
I'm not sure how to connect to the bus station, but there is a bus (several) which are quite comfortable and easy to take from Athens to Napflio.

Hi Dknees - I posted this on your other "Nafplio" thread. If your thread sinks just click on your name and you will be able to view it. If you want you can "top" it by writing yourself something "ttt" (for example) and it will bring your question back up to the top of the European forum.
You can check the long distance bus schedule on the KTEL website: www.ktel.org You will have to change buses in Athens to get to Kalambaka/Meteora from Nafplio. The bus is easy to use and there are frequent buses between Athens/Nafplio and Athens/Kalambaka (or neighbouring Trikala). A car will help you maximize your time - it just depends on your own preferances. I didn't have a car when I visited Meteora, but taxied to Grand Meteora, then hiked down to the other ones - I was able to see 6 on foot and missed out on about 3 far and away ones I believe. I was satisfied with this, but it was alot of walking. Of course if on foot you can also choose to taxi back down to Kalambaka instead of walking. Taxi Kalambaka to Grand Meteora cost 6 Euros. There is a bus from the airport to the Terminal A bus station (the long distance bus station that serves Nafplio). To get to Kalambaka you need to leave from the Terminal B station. As you arriving quite late, it might be worth staying that night at the airport hotel. The Sofitel isn't cheap but is very good and right at the airport. The drive to Nafplio takes 2 to 2 and a half hours.
