N152 vs D751 between Amboise and Blois?

Got a question for the Loire Valley experts. I'll be driving from Chenonceau to Blois in about 9 days - mid-week, midday. Won't have a lot of time to spare, so won't be stopping anywhere in between. But which is the more scenic "side" along the Loire between Amboise and Blois?

I know N152 is the more "major" route and may be faster, but if D751 is more scenic, how much more time do you think it'll take? I know it's often stupid to ask if it's "worth it", but if there's an apparent winner, please advise.

Thanks.

IMO the SOMEWHAT more "scenic" route would be the D route. We used this several times last year to travel from Amboise to Blois/environs. You may find yourself having to slow down a few more times due to the (slightly) "built-up" areas you'll pas through. Basically you may see a few more buildings, etc., on that side of the river.

Not sure what you actually mean when you say you won't have a lot of time to spare; if time is THAT critical I would stick to the N route.

Thanks for the reply. Well, my companions and I have a very aggressive itinerary, so we won't have to time to stop between the castles. But we'll see how late we leave Chenonceau and decide which way to go.

All other comments welcomed.

Just came back from my trip. Weather was nice, and the Loire chateaus are magnificent.

I took D751 between Amboise and Blois, but I have to say that it's not that interesting. Traffic is pretty light, so timewise it's probably the same either way. One just cannot see the river that much along the route.

I agree about the lack of excitement but then again you didn't ask about views of the river...no offense meant to you..glad you enjoyed your trip
