Mykonos to Naxos or Paros - Ferry
My husband and I will be traveling to Greece and the Greek Isles in late May. I get motion sick very easily and am trying to avoid ferries at all costs, but it looks like with the flight schedules, I may have to take a ferry. So, my question is this: On what ferry would I be "safer" on as far as avoiding motion sickness: Mykonos to Naxos or Mykonos to Paros. Which ferry ride is shorter and which is likely to have the larger ferry? Thanks!

The shortest hop would be Mykonos>Paros. The most stable ship on this route showing so far would be the Hellenic Seaways Highspeed car ferry. If you take a seat along the center line of the ferry the rocking motion will be at its least.
Then, if you wanted to continue on to Naxos you can take one of the regular car ferries, such as one from the Blue Star Ferry company, which are larger still as well as being more stable.

Actually, if Hellenic Seaways Highspeed 2 is running, it will stop first at Naxos, and then Paros. You can see the ship at: http://www.hellenicseaways.gr/index.asp?a_id=263.
The highspeeds are large and very stable. Next down the list for people with motion sickness would be FlyingCat 4 (Mykonos-Paros), a smaller passenger-only catamaran, but still stable in calm seas. Avoid SeaJet 2, another small catamaran on this route, if you can.

Thanks for the responses. I'm confused. When I go to Hellenic Seaways' website, it doesn't even give me the option of a ferry between Mykonos to Naxos or Paros. What am I doing wrong? Also, if the shortest hop is Mykonos to Paros, then why would it stop first at Naxos?

Becca, you are doing nothing wrong. Hellenic Seaways hasn't posted their summer highspeed timetable yet. When they do, those destinations will appear on the website. Keep checking - the May sailings should appear in the next week or two.
I'm not sure that Paros is the shorter hop. You can see the Highspeed 2 route here: http://tinyurl.com/2a9wbf. Scroll down to the map on the bottom of the page.
