My vacation is 1 month from today

Someone come and sit on me. I cant stand the anticipation. This is a exciting and thrilling time for anyone ready for a trip.
I havent been to Europe since 2001. The whole atmosphere of Europe is so wonderful to me. Italy especially is calling (screaming) my name. To see Venice again is a dream come true.

How I will concentrate at work for the next month is beyond me. :)

Statia Aug 20th, 2003 09:58 AM

I know how you feel JandaO. Wish I were the one returning to Italy. However, I'm busily planning Ireland and Scotland and already getting somewhat antsy about that, as well.

Just try to focus...focus....focussssss. Although I doubt it will help much.

Good luck over the next four weeks!

Lesli Aug 20th, 2003 10:03 AM

I know how you feel. In fact, nearly everyone on this board does!

Howevever, if each of us posted a thread like this, where would the actual questions end up?

JandaO Aug 20th, 2003 10:10 AM

lesli,
Excuse me all to heck. Alot of people arent leaving in a month, some are just here to read and get ideas.

FainaAgain Aug 20th, 2003 10:11 AM

May I join the club? Leaving on 9/14.

JandaO Aug 20th, 2003 10:18 AM

I'm off to the West of Ireland in mid-September and then a weekend somewhere in Europe, yet to be organized.

FainaAgain Aug 20th, 2003 10:22 AM

Oh, just a short trip to Southern California for a week on a ranch in Sequioa NP area. Anxiety is still the same :)

leslieo Aug 20th, 2003 10:28 AM

JandaO,
I leave in 6 weeks and I am already getting those feelings! I know it will be here before I (and you) know it. Everyday, I read this board for the info. and comments. This is my first trip to Italy, so I am very excited. Have a wonderful trip.

gualalalisa Aug 20th, 2003 10:29 AM

JandaO, Faina, O'Reilly: Me too! I can totally relate - am leaving for five-week European trip September 30.

Please keep sharing - I enjoy reading about everyone's excitement and anticipation. As for concentrating at work, I'm obviously not since I'm on this board almost every day!

swalter518 Aug 20th, 2003 10:31 AM

leslie, I'm right there with you -- 6 weeks and counting. I've got to stop reading postings like this because all they do is make the waiting worse!!!

leslieo ([email protected]),
wow your first trip to Italy. You are going to have such an awesome time. What places are you going to visit?

leslieo Aug 20th, 2003 11:03 AM

Swalter518-Best wishes for a wonderful trip.
JandaO-We are going to Milan(1 day), Venice (2 days), Florence(2 days), Umbria region(a week) and leaving from Rome (1/1/2 days). I am stilling planning our day trips while we are in Umbria. How about you?

Jennie Aug 20th, 2003 11:08 AM

Hey Janda!

You know I am right there with you on the excitement-o-meter! 28 days and counting for me! Yesterday I ordered an extra battery for my digital camera which inspired in me a feeling of joy completely out of proportion to the actual task. I'm not well . . . ;)

As for our oh, so sweet Lesli. Does she remind anyone else of Ms. Hanigan from the movie Annie during the scene were all the orphans are laughing and singing "It's a Hard Knock Life" and she staggers in all boozy and drunk and says, "What is going on in here?! Is this . . . is this . . . is this HAPPINESS I hear in here?"

Jennie :)

JandaO Aug 20th, 2003 12:07 PM

Jennie,
Hi, nice to hear from you. Yes it is HAPPINESS you hear here. :)

28 days for you !! That is so cool kiddo. I know you are frothing at the bit. You will get "well" closer to your departure date.

Email me when you can...

Remember the post written last month by Ivy, who said "Do you ever think you're just going to burst?" It only goes to show none of us have burst yet, but we're all still brimming away with anticipation! How about this, ladies...in only two (yes!!! TWO) weeks I shall be sitting at a cafe in Rome, soaking up all that Italian ambiance! Hooray! Now, in the meantime, I must give my house a thorough spring cleaning, because my parents will be arriving in eight days to hold the fort down while we're away. That will keep me occupied (that and this!)

swalter518 Aug 20th, 2003 12:41 PM

Janda, DLN & Jennie-Very jealous that you're leaving so soon. However, when you're back already, I'll just be leaving. :X Make sure you post your reports when you get back with all your tips.

Statia Aug 20th, 2003 12:45 PM

Yes, I want to see trip reports from all of you "dahlings." Looking forward to lots of reading material and reminiscing!
