My trip report--Published!

Not a big deal, but I managed to get my trip report of a recent trip to UK/Italy/Ireland/France published in a local paper. If interested, you can read it at http://www.independent.com/living/mylife916.htm
Thanks to all on this forum who helped with the itinerary.

Well, Congratulations!!! But I hope you were thoughtful enough to have Ira, the Grammar Policeman, proof read it before it was submitted.

adrienne Jul 8th, 2004 08:09 AM

This article certainly doesn't need any grammar police, official or unofficial. Excellent report and very interesting. We need more like it here.

Good for you, zeppo.

Does this make you a Travel Writer.

cigalechanta Jul 8th, 2004 08:19 AM

Zipity-doo-da for zeppo!
Congratulations!

StCirq Jul 8th, 2004 08:36 AM

Wonderfully informative and well-written report! Thanks for the link.

He certainly writes better than the grammar police:)

Thanks for the kind words! We submitted it on a whim to the local weekly, so anyone else who feels the need to publish might give it a shot after your next European jaunt. I've seen a few posters asking how to break into travel writing, and that's really all it was to it for us. That 75 dollars we earned ought to just about cover dinner in Paris one night this next December.

Scarlett Jul 8th, 2004 04:54 PM

zeppo, that is just GREAT!
Congratulations! I know that is such a great feeling when you get published for the first time!
I hope to see more from you :)

Thanks, Scarlett. And of course, it just makes me want to cash in those frequent flyer miles and travel tomorrow.

cigalechanta Jul 8th, 2004 07:18 PM

Hey zeppo, as lovely as Scarlett, is how about the rest of us who threw you bouquets?

Kavey Jul 13th, 2004 07:47 AM

Congratulations...
I was just reading the thread on travel writing and what comes through loud and clear is to have an unusual slant and your article certainly has that.
It's also written in a very entertaining and engaging way - a good read.
Well done and thanks for sharing!
