My trip report from Milan
Hi
My wife and I went to Milan and Venice in June 2003. I have posted a trip report from Milan (with some pictures) on my homepage...and the trip report from Venice will also be published soon. You can find the trip report on my homepage www.gardkarlsen.com I hope this report can be of some help to people that are planning a trip to Milan. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments :-) Regards Gard Stavanger, Norway |
Nice report, I enjoyed it. Thanks.

Nice report. I enjoyed the photos. What a shame that the Duomo was covered! It's so beautiful. I was in Milan on the 10th of June and the temps hit 39 celcius. Ugh!

Hi
Yes, it was a bit hot in Milan and it got even warmer when we got to Venice. But we enjoyed it :-D Regards Gard Stavanger, Norway |
Nice page about Milan, Gard.
We're going to be in Milan for a mere 2 days in September. We were going to stay in the Cinque Terre for longer, but then realized that there is an F1 race in Monza just when we're going to be there, so we couldn't resist heading further north. We'll have part of the Saturday in Milan and are going to see "The Last Supper" (already booked tickets by phone) at 5:30pm that day when we get into town. Sunday is the race, and the following Monday we will have a few hours before heading south again! If you have any specifics on the Gelaterias (names, etc.) that you liked in Milan, please post. Also, any good Pizza restaurants that had particularly good pizzas? |
Hi benderbabe
So you guys are going to see the F1 race? Lucky you :-) I hope to go to Montreal next year and I will be sure to go there when the Canadian Grand Prix is on :-D When it comes to the ice cream in Milan: the ice was generally very good there and we bought from many different places. We bought ice a couple of times at Piazza del Duomo (seen behind me on the last picture in my trip report). This is located just behind the Duomo. Regards Gard www.gardkarlsen.com |
Yes, we live in Sydney and we used to go to the Melbourne Grand Prix every year, but we quit going two years ago, because it was so expensive (the way we liked to do it anyway), that we could go to it in another country each year for the same price.
We've been to the Malaysian Grand Prix once too. It was OK, but I wouldn't bother with it again. My ultimate goal, of course, is to go to the Monaco Grand Prix, but since we happened to be right in the area during the Monza GP this time, we thought "why not?" I used to be a big Schumacher fan, until it occurred to me that he and his team cheat an awful lot. Now I'm a devoted Raikkonen fan. I think, after Michael is done winning, either Montoya or Raikkonen will be the champion...depending on who gets the better team/car. |
